The Coalition of Youth for Good Governance in Nigeria has commended Nigerian workers for their resilience and dedication on Workers’ Day 2026, while urging the government to take decisive action to improve their welfare.
In a press statement by National President of the coalition, Benedict Olalere on Friday, the coalition highlighted the challenges faced by workers, including rising costs of living, transportation, and basic commodities.

“We salute the men and women whose daily labour sustains our economy. This celebration must also be a moment of reflection.”, Olalere said.
The coalition demands improved wages, sustainable palliative measures, and policies to address inflation and cost of living.
The group also commended Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde’s worker-friendly policies and urged the Federal Government to replicate them nationwide.

“A motivated workforce is the engine of national development,” the statement concluded.
