A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has called on school administrators to strengthen security around students, pupils and teachers as schools resume for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement issued on Monday by her Special Assistant on Media, Communications and Publicity, Olawale Kunle, Olawoyin commended school administrators for their dedication to learners, noting that their impact on society cannot be overstated.
“The teaching profession remains the foundation of progress. Without teachers, there can be no knowledge transfer or a brighter future,” she said.
The 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly aspirant for Egbeda State Constituency congratulated pupils, students and teachers across Egbeda, Oyo State and Nigeria on the new session, and urged them to renew their commitment to teaching and learning processes.
The gender equality advocate also urged parents and guardians to provide their wards with necessary learning materials and to closely monitor both students and teachers to ensure positive outcomes.

Olawoyin further called on school administrators to review safety measures and establish surveillance systems, while collaborating with local and federal security agencies for prompt response to emergencies.
Meanwhile, She also appealed to governments at all levels to fund the school inspectorate department to curb indiscipline among students, and to increase security patrols around schools to ensure a safe academic environment in Oyo State.
