Police Chief, Disu Presents ₦2.4Bn To Families Of 1,075 Fallen Officers

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has presented cheques to 1,075 beneficiaries and next-of-kin of deceased police officers under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes.

In a statement made available to newsmen by Police Force Public Relations Officer, Okon Placid on Wednesday, it stated that the cheques, worth ₦2,435,421,584.11, cover policy years 2018-2025/2026, including outstanding insurance claims.

Force Insurance Officer, ACP Lydia Ameh, said the disbursement reflects IGP Disu’s commitment to prioritizing officers’ welfare.

IGP Disu described the ceremony as a recognition of the sacrifices made by officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, emphasizing that their welfare remains a central pillar of his administration.

He assured that efforts would be intensified to strengthen welfare frameworks and improve administrative efficiency.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its commitment to the welfare of personnel and families of fallen officers.
