The Management of Dominion Broadcast Group, Dominion 106.1 FM and Dominion Television, has clarified the circumstances surrounding the departure of a former staff member, Mrs. Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa.

In a statement signed by the General Manager, Finance and Administration, Mr. Oladokun Festus Morakinyo, the company said Mrs. Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa was not dismissed following the organization’s recent staff audit, performance appraisal, and restructuring exercise.

The management explained that she was rather redeployed as the Head of Content, Producer, Presenter and Digital Services, a role it said related professionally with her qualifications and experience as reflected in her curriculum vitae.

According to the statement, the decision to redeploy her was informed by concerns over her suitability for the position of General Manager, Television Unit.

The company allegedly restated that Mrs.Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa lacked a requisite television industry experience, technical expertise, and documented achievement required for the role.

However, Dominion Broadcast Group further claimed that the media personality limited care experience in television management led to the engagement of external personnel to perform some core responsibilities, a development it said exposed the organization’s operations to risk.

The statement noted that following her redeployment, effective from June 2, 2026, added that Mrs. Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa submitted her resignation, two days later ( June 4, 2026)

The Management, however, alleged that the former employee failed to comply with the terms of her employment contract requiring a one-month notice period or payment of one month’s salary in lieu of notice.

The company also accused her of failing to return certain corporate assets, including an official vehicle, an official laptop, and control of Dominion Television’s digital platforms.

According to the statement, the affected platforms include the station’s YouTube channel, which has over 3,000 subscribers and monetized content, as well as its Facebook page with more than 14,000 followers.

The management alleged that the Facebook page had been converted into a personal account and that original station content had been removed.

Describing the actions as inconsistent with professional standards and the terms of employment, Dominion Broadcast Group said it remains committed to maintaining accountability and operational integrity.

The company assured listeners, viewers, and stakeholders that its broadcasting operations remain unaffected and that it will continue to provide quality broadcasting services.
