The Oyo state Government has declared Tuesday 16 June, 2026 as a public holiday.

In a circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde and made available on Monday to newsmen, the government said the holiday is in honour of Hijirah 1448 across the World.

The government urged the citizens, especially Muslim faithful to pray for a continued peace and progress of the state.

Recall, over 1000 pilgrims from Oyo State to the Holy Land in May returned safely over the last two days.
