Faith, hope make sustainable future- Adeojo tells pupils at Alma Mata

The Executive Chairman, Water Corporation of Oyo State (WCOS), Hon. Elias Adeojo has called young children to imbibe faith, hope for a sustainable future.

Speaking at the Catch Them Young Initiative Campaign held at IDC Pre-Basic & Basic School Erinkoja Obe Owode, Apata, Ibadan on Thursday, Adeojo noted that the school has greatly positioned him to the point of success in life.

He emphasized on the importance of sound elementary education in any Nigerian society, saying efforts of his teachers and parents through monitoring and evaluation enabled his sound life foundation.

Addressing the pupils at his alma mata, the current Executive Chairman of Oyo State Water Corporation gave credit to invaluable growth and development of education under the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration, adding that the effort has greatly reduced the rate of out of school population in the state.

” Few days ago, I saw that a young man was filmed on the television as a stark illiterate. I said to myself, if he has had a qualitative free education as we enjoy under the Seyi Makinde led administration, maybe such an individual will have been exempted from illiteracy. One of this great initiatives to hail young talents is this CATCH THEM YOUNG which has featured various leaders including the current chairman of Oyo State Universal Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran.”

“This administration has consistently made frantic effort to position education forward through employment of over fifteen thousand teachers, and rebuilding of classroom structures and other policies and programmes that make education attracting to both the parents, teachers and even pupils and students. This is highly unprecedented.”, he said.

The young technocrat and politician noted that he functioned in the school drum crew over twenty years ago, expressing his joy for making the school proud, calling the pupils to embrace faith, and hope for a shining future.

He said,” Nobody in my time here could pre-empt my shining future years back here. I can say emphatically that faith and hope through dedication, commitment, and co-operation of my parents with my school and government yielded this huge feat for me.”

Assuring greater future for the pupils, Hon. Adeojo called the young children to see themselves as ambassadors of future, calling them to shun absenteeism, truancy, and other negative social value systems including theft, lies, malpractices and others.

Meanwhile, the Water Corporation Chairman urged the government at all levels to greatly fund education systems as to give an improved results across board.

Earlier, Co-ordinator of Catch Them Young Initiative and Bright Lens Media Networks, Mrs. Ayodeni Aluko appealed to parents and teachers to remain committed to nurturing the talents in the young children for a highly creatively competitive society.

Highlights of the campaign included children games, inauguration of Educational clubs such as the JETS, Security, Environmental, Health and Press Clubs.
