A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon Temitope Olawoyin, has said that despite the death of former governor of Oyo State, the late Abiola Ajimobi, his legacies remain in the state.

In a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Communications and Publicity, Olawale Kunle, and made available to newsmen on Thursday, the aspiring lawmaker described the late Abiola Ajimobi as a man of large heart.

Olawoyin noted that the former governor delivered good governance during his two-term regime, describing it as a historic legacy.

She said the former administrator engineered a new Oyo State development plan, including the establishment of new educational and technological institution, construction of various road infrastructure, introduction of sanity into the state civil service, elimination of ghost workers, and decongesting of political sycophants within the government secretariat.

She added that others included redeeming the prestige of the state, giving rise to local government administration, dealing with public thuggery and brigandage, and redefinition of chieftaincy matters, noting that his successor, Seyi Makinde, leveraged on these for public acceptance.

“There is no town or aged person, or region of the state that can deny the presence and impact of former governor, the late Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi,” she said.

The Egbeda State Constituency aspirant sympathised with the family of the deceased, calling on them to remain committed to the progress of their respective society for the promotion of the Ajimobi dynasty.

Recall that the late Abiola Ajimobi passed on in 2020 after a brief illness.

Meanwhile, Hon Olawoyin encouraged political leaders to live for future legacy, saying everything will become history.

While lauding the late Ajimobi’s focus, passion, energy, love, civility, audacity, and quest for good leadership even in death, she prayed to God Almighty to increase his rest, while the family and party he left behind grow stronger.

“Late Governor Abiola Ajimobi lived between 16 Dec 1949, and 25 June 2020. His legacies remain undeniable” statement added.
