An Ona-Ara resident, Comrade Muritala Adebayo, has shed light on why Hon Akin Alabi continues to command attention and influence in Oyo State politics.

He attributed the second term serving federal lawmaker’s growing clout to his strong grassroots connection and commitment to responsible leadership.

According to Adebayo, Alabi’s emergence as a force to be reckoned with is a gradual shift in influence within the political space.

“When new energy and credibility begin to resonate with the people, it naturally unsettles those who have long dominated the political terrain,” he said.

Adebayo pointed out that Alabi’s background in politics, courtesy of his late father, Chief Adediran Alabi, a respected grassroots figure, has laid the foundation for his understanding of community politics, saying his integrity, humility, and willingness to collaborate with others have earned him widespread respect.

The resident described Alabi as a core man of integrity ( Omoluabi), widely known for a responsible leadership.

He said the politician has consistently demonstrated willingness to work with individuals and groups committed to progress, making him a magnet for influential personalities.

Adebayo believes criticisms directed at Alabi stem from fear of losing control. “In politics, when the fear of losing control begins to set in, the next strategy is often discrediting campaigns aimed at pulling the rising voice down,” he said.

While Adebayo noted that earlier tactics have backfired, he said amplifying conversations around Alabi are a sign of relevance in Oyo State’s evolving politics.

The resident who described the federal lawmaker as a rising star, added that his commitment to grassroots engagement and community politics has endeared him to many.

“As Oyo State’s politics continues to evolve, I am very certain that Alabi will remain a dominant force owing to his integrity, leadership, and community focus cementing his position as a key player in the state’s politics.”, he noted.

Meanwhile, the resident said as discussions about Alabi’s potential future plans continue to grow momentum, Akin Alabi will remain a force to be reckoned with in Oyo State politics.
