Elected officials of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have passed a unanimous vote of confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde, commending his administration’s leadership and developmental strides.
The endorsement was part of resolutions reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held at Jagz Hotel, Iyaganku, Ibadan on Sunday.
The Meeting gathered PDP elected representatives across various levels of government to review governance progress, deliberating on the party’s developments.
The meeting presided by Oyo State PDP Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro commended Makinde’s prudent resource management, transparency, and accountability, particularly lauding his prioritization of workers’ and pensioners’ welfare through regular payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities.
The administration’s infrastructure drive, including the Ibadan Circular Road project and Ladoke Akintola Airport upgrade, was also lauded for opening up economic corridors and stimulating investment.
” This is my party, and coming to pass a vote of confidence on Governor Seyi Makinde is a good thing,ore importantly as he has done greatly well for the state as a whole. We want to leave the past behind us and focus on the 2027 General Elections”, he said.
In his remark, the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin noted that the stakeholders which included all officials from across the 351 of the state have reaffirmed the unity, strength, and stability in the PDP in Oyo State, stating that elected officials have resolved to remain united under the PDP umbrella, working collectively for the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
He urged party leaders and members to work together in harmony, placing collective interest above individual ambitions.
Attendees included House of Representatives members, Oyo State Assembly members, and party leaders, with a pledge to uphold unity, discipline, loyalty, and service to the people, support Makinde’s administration in delivering democracy dividends what happened.
