The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery and truck-hijacking syndicate specialising in hijacking and stealing trucks from unsuspecting drivers.

The suspects, identified as Ojedokun Olakunle Isaac, Ajuwon Ismail, Adekunle Sunday, and Rasheed Music, were arrested along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on August 24, 2026.

A white-coloured SINO HOWO truck was recovered, although its back body/bucket had been removed. The truck was hijacked from its driver and was being driven towards Ogbomoso/Ilorin for sale to a criminal receiver in Kwara State.

Investigations revealed that Adekunle Sunday acted as the syndicate’s designated driver, while Rasheed Music specialised in removing vehicle trackers to frustrate recovery efforts.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, PSC, mnips, appreciated the public’s assistance and reiterated the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks in Oyo State.

He added that efforts are ongoing to recover the truck’s detached parts and apprehend other suspects at large.
