An aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly in Egbeda Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has commended security agencies for the rescue of Mrs. Olaide JohnPaul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims, younger sister and nephews of former Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, were freed on Saturday, June 7, 2026 from a demolished hideout at Lakohun, Ayegun Community, Ibadan. They were abducted at gunpoint on Wednesday, June 3 along Elewura, Challenge area while taking the children to school.
In a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Olawale Kunle, on Tuesday, Hon. Olawoyin described the operation as “Accurate, timely and professionally executed.”
She noted that the rescue has restored public confidence that our security outfits can defeat criminal elements in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
She applauded the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Abimbola and other security operatives, urging the Oyo State government to increase surveillance across the state for swift emergency response.
The APC chieftain also raised concern over victims of Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota in Oriire LGA who remain in captivity after 25 days.
“The pains women face during pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing can only be understood by those who have experienced it. Stakeholders must expedite the release of these children and women”, she said.
Hon. Olawoyin discouraged the public from sharing gory details online, saying, “Let us prioritize vigilance and caution while government creates room for true state police. This will enable security agencies to pin down all insecurity tendencies.”
Meanwhile, She reaffirmed her promise of inclusive representation if elected in 2027.
