An All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain and aspirant for Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has described former Oyo State APC Executive Committee member, Hon. Shakirat Abiola, as “a tested and dedicated pride of Egbeda”.
In a felicitation message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Kunle Olawale, and made available to journalists on Wednesday, Olawoyin said Abiola remained an icon and role model for women and youths in Egbeda and Oyo State.
He lauded her contributions over the years, describing her as “a woman of worth”.
The gender equality advocate said Egbeda Local Government made no mistake in nominating her to serve in the state party executive, noting that her tenure was marked by quality service and dedication.
While urging the former exco member to continue her good leadership, Olawoyin wished her many more prosperous years in good health.
The lawmaker also appealed to party leaders to give women more voice in the 2027 general elections through appointments and elective positions, pledged to provide inclusive representation for youths, women, persons with disabilities and the elderly if elected in 2027.
