APC Ward 7: Busari led Executive returns unopposed, describes victory unique at Congress

The Ward 7 Executive led by Hon. Suraju Busari has returned unopposed at the February 18, 2026 All Progressives Congress Ward Congress.
The victory was announced at the congress monitored by the Egbeda Independent National Electoral Commission’ s representative, Mrs. Oludamisi Makinde at Community Primary School, Wakajaye, Ibadan.
The leaders and members of the party had gathered at the centre by 8.00 in the morning, expecting the arrival of the accredited Ward Executive until 1.50 in the afternoon.
Addressing the party faithful, one of the leaders, Hon. Tope Adetoso appreciated the patience, truth and resilience of members at ensuring a seamless process, that will produce a new executive for the next four years.
He appreciated the leaders including Hon. Adewusi, Sola Ajani, Hon. Okeowo, Princess Adebayo, Hon. Kola Raji, Hon. Yomi Azeez, Hon. Ejalonibu, among others for their commitment and dedication, saying such has continued to position the Ward above her contemporaries in Egbeda Local Government.
Confirming the presence of the security agents and INEC officials, the leader said the party has considered consensus candidacy as a testament to openness, dedication and focus of the returning executives.
He added that the arrangement was adopted to further highlight the peace and progress of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led ruling party in Nigeria, describing it a sort of emulation by the opposition parties in their dealings.
” Our great Party APC stands for peace and progress. Consensus has been adopted to show the opposition parties, that APC under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu means peace, prosperity and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole; this they also could adopt”, he said.
Addressing the newsmen, the re-elected Ward7 Chairman, Hon. Suraju Busari appreciated the leaders and all party faithful for their relentless support and co-operation, describing his executive re-emergence as a unique political disposition historically in Egbeda Local Government.
While seeking an intensified support of the party leaders and members, Hon. Busari appealed to aggrieved members to put the past behind them, assuring of an all round inclusivity.
” Tongues and teeth disagree, but through their agreement, they munch food. We seek all members co-operation with my executive for due leadership, and all round inclusivity”, he said.
The most peaceful conducted congress in the history of Ward 7 of the All Progressives Congress, was witnessed by hundreds of members of the party, and leaders.
Recall, the Oyo APC State Executive has on Sunday released compromise of consensus by stakeholders and as well 5-man Peace Committee led Hon. Fatai Ibikunle of the concluded Ward congress across the 351 Wards of Oyo State to give room for peace, unity, progress and inclusivity.
