Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Oyo State, Hon. Kunle Olatunji, has said his party is set to cause a major political upset in the 2027 general elections.

Olatunji, speaking during media engagements in Ibadan on Saturday, said the growing acceptance of ADP across the 33 local government areas reflects voters’ demand for a credible alternative to the two dominant parties.

According to him, the 2027 election represents a turning point for Oyo State, as citizens yearn for visionary and people-oriented leadership.

“Our administration will introduce a total overhaul of the governance architecture of Oyo State. We shall pursue a development-driven agenda anchored on competence, accountability, empathy and collective responsibility,” he said.

The ADP standard bearer said his governing philosophy is built on collectivism, where every indigene and resident will contribute to governance through collaboration and shared responsibility.

He added that an ADP government would harness the state’s human and natural resources to restore the developmental ideals championed by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Olatunji acknowledged that ADP is still viewed as an underdog by some, but noted that the party’s expanding grassroots support indicates it is becoming the preferred platform for discerning voters.

“We are determined to offer Oyo people a credible alternative. Our leadership represents intellectual capacity, sincerity and a sound understanding of the people’s needs,” he said.

He assured supporters that their confidence would not be misplaced, and that ADP remains united and stable unlike other parties battling internal crises.

“Together, we shall build a greater Oyo State where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive. The time for purposeful leadership is now,” Olatunji concluded.
