Folarin Lauds Massive Turnout of APC Members for Presidential Primaries in Oyo State

By, Ola Kunle

The Oyo State Coordinator and State Returning Officer for the 2026 APC Presidential Primaries in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, has commended the massive turnout of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 351 wards of the state for participating in the Saturday presidential primaries.

Senator Folarin described the impressive turnout as a strong demonstration of party loyalty, commitment, and confidence in the leadership of the APC, noting that such enthusiasm reflects the readiness of party members to work collectively towards greater success in the 2027 elections.

Addressing party members, the former Senate Leader charged them to continue taking the achievements of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to the grassroots, stressing the need for effective communication of the administration’s policies, programmes, and developmental strides to the people.

He further assured members that the party in Oyo State would intensify efforts towards achieving at least a 35 percent improvement on the 2023 presidential election results, emphasizing that strategic mobilization, stronger grassroots engagement, and sustained party unity would be key to attaining this target.

Senator Folarin also preached unity, harmonisation, and reconciliation among party faithful, urging members to close ranks, put aside differences, and work together in the overall interest of the party.

He reiterated that only a united APC can consolidate on its gains, strengthen its structure, and position itself for victory in subsequent elections across Oyo State and beyond.

While expressing sadness over the recent attack by gunmen on three schools in Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire LGA of Oyo State, Folarin described the incident as unfortunate, painful, and deeply disturbing.

He condemned the mass abduction and gruesome killings reported in the affected communities, while assuring residents that security agencies were working tirelessly, day and night, to rescue those still in the captivity of bandits and restore peace and security to the area.
