A Public administration expert and 2027 Aspirant for Oyo State House of Assembly for Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has called on Nigerians to shun politics of complaint for possibility.

She made the call at 2026 Renewed Hope Leadership Engagement Summit in Ibadan on Saturday, describing it as a pathway to due development in the country.

The aspiring lawmaker, who addressed the youths and women in attendance, highlighted the strength of the youths and women, saying the demographic takes half the general World’s population.

She said despite the political space in the country is yet to greatly enable the demographic to take leadership wholly, she maintained that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is on the pathway to empowering youths and women.

She cited some policies attributed to women and youths including NELFUND with at least 1.9million youths beneficiaries since 2024 until date.

“The recent report says over 300billion naira has been voted on NELFUND- students loan. About 319 institutions have greatly benefitted with many more to be considered into the project.”, she said.

While she also cited NANO business grants and free business registration opportunities for small and medium enterprises, Hon. Olawoyin lauded the present administration for appointing youths and women in its cabinet, describing it as an incentive for active participation in public positive contributions by women and youths across the country.

However, some critics argue that the current administration has not done enough to address the economic challenges facing Nigerian youths, citing high unemployment rates and inflation.

The Egbeda APC chieftain urged the demographic to be more positive in politics, saying failure to do so will compound their non-consideration for leadership at any level of administration in the country.

She condemned individuals who complain of bad leadership, saying absence of political involvement continues to pave way to the menace.

Hon. Olawoyin, who decried public complaint, called on Nigerians to embrace politics of possibility regardless of its difficulty.

“Nothing good comes cheap. We must shift from complaints to possibilities. Historically, we had successful individuals in politics, education, policy, and economy in this country such as Moremi Ajansoro, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, others, possibilities made them leave a legacy.”, she added.

The respected public administrator, who called on Nigerians to imagine possibility, urged for flexible education systems and policies, access creation, women empowerment, leadership support and accountability for a competitive development across the nation’s sector.

Meanwhile, Hon. Olawoyin praised the organizers of the summit, describing it as timely demanding as youths and women seek positions in various wards, local government areas, state and federal.

She pledged to remain a voice for the womenfolk for a sustainable representation across the country.

Speaking, the Egbeda APC Chairman, Olawale Olaleye urged the youths to shun politics of violence, calling them to channel their energies to positive nation building strategies.

Earlier, the Founder of Aare Movement, Comrade Taofeek Babatubde Yekeen, commended the organizing committee and party leadership of the All Progressives Congress especially in Egbeda Local Government area of  Oyo state, urging a progressive unity and co-operation with all its candidates for a historic victory in 2027.
