An aspirant for Oyo State House of Assembly, Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin has urged Nigerians to exercise caution during the ember months, warning that failure to do so increases risks.

In a statement issued by her special assistant on Media, Communications and Publicity, Olawale Kunle, on Tuesday, Olawoyin said, “No month is unclean, but dispositions and failure to take precautions add to woes.”

She cited the recent boat capsize in Cyprus that killed over 20 people, attributing it to lack of precautions.

“Quite unfortunate, forensic investigation of the boat capsize on Turkish Sea on Sunday was failure to take precautions on both the crew and passengers. Deaths. Woes. Mourning in Cyprus and affected families. We must avert this in our dealings, especially now that the year is running out. Patience and precautions must be a key,” she said.

Olawoyin commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for awarding 12 road infrastructure projects in Oyo State, saying they will boost socio-economic activities. She urged contractors to hasten work and stakeholders to ensure oversight against sabotage.

She praised Minister of Works, David Umahi, and Chairman on Public Works, Hon. Akin Alabi, for their efforts in national infrastructure development.

Describing the ember months as “blessed and harvesting,” Olawoyin urged citizens to remain law-abiding and security operatives to stay vigilant for shared prosperity.
