The Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Establishments and Training, conducted the year 2026 mandatory confirmation examination for officers on Grade Levels 1 to 6, on Tuesday, the 11th of August, 2026. The exercise recorded the participation of over four thousand five hundred candidates across various cadres.

The examination was held simultaneously at seven zonal designated centres across the state and commenced at 9:00 am. Candidates from cadres, including Clerical Officers, Clerical Assistants, Store Attendants, and other allied positions, participated in the exercise.

All officers appointed to junior cadres are required to pass this mandatory examination within two years of their appointment to qualify for confirmation of their employment.

Addressing the candidates at the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre, for Ibadan Zone 1 and 2, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Hameed Alade Bello, urged the participants to remain patient while awaiting their respective batches. He assured them that the examination would be conducted for every eligible officer, and encouraged them to put in their best and pass the examination; as the examination is the window to further career development.

Results will be released and communicated to participants through their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) upon completion of the grading process.

The examination covered subjects such as Public Service Rules 1 and 2, as well as Current Affairs.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has vowed to leave no stone unturned in identifying and bringing to book any individual, teacher, head teacher or principal found culpable of examination malpractice in any form.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, stated this during a meeting with some Local Inspectors of Education (LIEs), principals and a popular radio presenter at the conference room of the Ministry.

Olayiwola said the meeting was convened to investigate allegations of examination leakage and malpractice surrounding the recently concluded Common Entrance Placement Examination conducted for admission of pupils into Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

According to him, the Ministry had taken several proactive measures to curb examination malpractice during the Joint Promotion and Common Entrance examinations, stressing that the government would not tolerate any act capable of undermining the integrity of the state’s education system.

He disclosed that all principals had signed letters of indemnity, making any school administrator found aiding, abetting or engaging in examination malpractice liable to appropriate sanctions under the law.

The Commissioner further warned that the Ministry would thoroughly investigate the allegations and ensure that anyone found culpable faces the necessary disciplinary and legal consequences, irrespective of status or position.

He, however, urged broadcast media organisations to exercise caution and responsibility in reporting allegations, advising them to properly verify claims and conduct thorough investigations before indicting individuals or institutions.

Olayiwola reiterated the commitment of the Oyo State Government to maintaining transparency, credibility and fairness in the conduct of examinations across the state.
