The Action Democratic Party (ADP) leadership in Oyo and Osun States, alongside their respective governorship candidates, Ambassador Kunle Olatunji (Oyo State) and Princess Oluyemisi Stella Adeagbo (Osun State), have expressed their heartfelt condolences to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ogunwusi Royal Family, and the entire people of Ile-Ife Kingdom on the passing of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, the immediate elder brother of the Ooni.

In a joint statement made available to the media, Ambassador Olatunji and Princess Adeagbo, both governorship candidates of ADP in Oyo and Osun states respectively alongside their Party Chairmen Apostle Dare Ojo and Hon Toye Ola Akinola described the late Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi as an illustrious son of Ile-Ife, a gentleman, accomplished entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose remarkable contributions to banking, commerce, real estate, and national development left an enduring legacy.

Reflecting on his personal relationship with the deceased, Ambassador Kunle Olatunji said:

«”I had a long-standing personal relationship with the late Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi and the Ogunwusi Royal Family, which afforded me the privilege of appreciating the exceptional personality he was and the exemplary life he lived.”»

«”Dodoo, as we fondly called him, will be sorely missed. He was kind-hearted, benevolent, brilliant, and exceptionally generous. Through Primewaterview Estate Development Company, which he established over two decades ago, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi made immense contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s real estate sector, transforming the landscape of Lagos and several other parts of the country with landmark development projects.”»

Princess Oluyemisi Stella Adeagbo, the ADP Governorship Candidate in Osun State, also paid glowing tribute to the late Prince, describing him as a rare gift to humanity whose passing is a great loss to Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.

She stated:

«”Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi was an accomplished professional, visionary entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose wealth of experience and commitment to development inspired many of us. He was one of the critical stakeholders we looked forward to partnering with in our vision for the development of Osun State if elected Governor in the forthcoming August governorship election. His demise is a painful loss, not only to the Ogunwusi family but to all who desire sustainable development for our state and nation.”»

The two governorship candidates, their Party Chairmen Apostle Dare Ojo, ADP Oyo State and Hon Toye Ola Akinola, ADP Osun State alongside several Party leaders prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Prince’s soul and urged His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the entire Ogunwusi Royal Family, and the people of Ile-Ife to find comfort in the impactful and exemplary life he lived.

They further prayed that Almighty God grants the family, friends, and all those mourning his passing the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
