The newly deployed Commissioner of Police for Osun State, CP Samuel Etaifo Erale, has paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, at the Commission’s State Head Office in Osogbo.

CP Erale reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to maintaining a cordial working relationship with INEC, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the Commission to discharge its electoral responsibilities.

Prof. Amupitan welcomed the new Commissioner of Police and expressed confidence in the continued collaboration between INEC and the Police to promote credible electoral processes in the state.

The visit follows CP Erale’s assumption of duty in Osun State after his deployment by the Inspector-General of Police, marking a new chapter in the state’s security and electoral preparations.

CP Erale’s deployment comes after the recent redeployment of the previous Commissioner of Police by the Inspector-General of Police, part of routine reshuffles aimed at enhancing security effectiveness.

During the meeting, CP Erale assured INEC of the Police Force’s readiness to provide security for electoral materials and personnel, crucial for the success of upcoming elections in the state.

Prof. Amupitan lauded the Police Force’s past efforts in Osun and urged continued vigilance to ensure peaceful elections, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in maintaining electoral integrity.
