The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, Hon. Sunday Adedayo Asefon, for their support to student leadership.

In a statement signed by President of the Senate, National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) Comrade Festus Oyewumi and made available to newsmen on Friday, the association commended the facilitation of a brand-new Sienna bus to support the activities of the six zonal co-ordinators of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), describing it as a commendable gesture.

“The recent facilitation of a brand-new Sienna bus to support the activities of the six zonal co-ordinators of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is a commendable gesture that reflects the genuine concern both leaders have for the growth of student leadership and youth development across the country.”

“This intervention is not only timely but also symbolic of the renewed attention the present administration is giving to the voices and operations of student bodies in Nigeria.”

“It further strengthens the bridge between government and student leadership, ensuring that those who represent the interests of millions of students can effectively discharge their responsibilities.”

The association urged the leaders to continue their support, emphasizing that the youth and student population are key assets of Nigeria.

“We respectfully encourage both distinguished leaders to continue in this noble path of service.”

“The youth and student population in Nigeria remain one of the greatest assets of our nation, and consistent support from government leaders such as yourselves continues to inspire confidence and hope among millions of young Nigerians.”, the statement added.

Meanwhile, NAPS also appealed for inclusivity, requesting that benefits and opportunities be extended to all sister student unions across the country.
