Just in: Hon. Olawoyin braces for direct primary, pledges democratic representation.

A leading APC aspirant for Oyo state House of Assembly, Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin has assured constituents of delivering a democratic representation.

In a communique released through a Special Assistant on Media, Communications and Publicity after a press briefing held in Ibadan on Saturday, Hon. Olawoyin lauded the 10th National Assembly for scrutinizing the 2026 Electoral Act as amended, noting that the new framework for choosing representatives has highlighted power of constituents, party faithful, with the conditional move to adopt consensus at willing agreement of aspirants, who must have purchased nomination forms to indicate core interest in democratic contest.

The leading aspirant commended the growing unity among the party faithful, especially in Egbeda State Constituency, urging their loyalty and support beyond 2027 for a transformative agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and every formally produced candidate at party primaries ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The gender equality advocate who expressed readiness to participate in the forthcoming party primary and general elections, challenged other thirteen (13) aspiring lawmakers in Egbeda APC to follow due process in the forthcoming party primaries.

She recalled that the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Nigeria, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has ruled out consensus arrangement for any emerging candidate across the advertised elective positions including the Presidency, Senate, Federal House of Representatives, Houses of Assembly for the sake of transparency, accountability and full participation of all party members.

However, Olawoyin warned against money scent politicking in producing candidates, saying doing so will be tantamount to mortgaging the prospects of credible and ready to – serve aspirants.

Meanwhile, the public administration professional cum politician commended the leader in Egbeda State Constituency for always standing for the truth, saying their foresights and good value uphold will help to engender a transparent and popular democracy.

The aspiring lawmaker, while assuring the constituents of a democratic transformative representation, called for their continued support, due loyalty, while co-aspirants should imbibe engaging politics against few-benefiting democratic leadership.
