Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde, has said he may abandon the renovation of the Agbowo Shopping Complex over naira devaluation.
Makinde stated this in Ibadan on Sunday during a three-and-a-half-hour media chat.
He said his administration has succeeded in revolutionising the state’s infrastructure to boost the economy in the last seven years.
The governor disclosed that the Agbowo Complex renovation was initially evaluated at between N7 billion and N8 billion, but recent re-evaluation has pushed the cost to N21 billion.

He said the sharp rise in cost may make it impossible for his outgoing administration to complete the project, given other pressing commitments of the state.
Makinde also berated the Federal Government over its recent fuel price ceiling within 30 days, saying the country needs a clear template for fuel pricing to ensure transparency and earn public trust.

The APM presidential flag-bearer promised to commission the ongoing Circular Road project, while urging residents to accept his succession plan for Bimbo Adekanmbi for a smoother, all-inclusive and prosperous governance beyond 2027.
