An aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly in Egbeda Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has called for special prayers and the deployment of a tactical rescue team for victims of recent abductions in the state.
In a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Olawale Kunle, and made available to newsmen on Friday, Hon. Olawoyin expressed sadness over abductions reported in Oriire on May 16 and Ibadan on June 3, 2026.

She described the attacks as “tragic and devastating,” noting that they targeted women and the education sector.
“The pains women go through during pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing can only be understood by those who have experienced it,” she said.
Hon. Olawoyin urged government and security agencies to intensify rescue operations for the abductees. She also advised citizens and civil society groups to avoid circulating gory details online to protect rescue efforts.
The public administration expert attributed insecurity to poverty, illiteracy, poor family planning and harsh government policies. She appealed to Nigerians to support vulnerable families with education, food and proper orientation to prevent future crimes.
She prayed for the safe rescue of all abductees and a total reduction in criminal activities across Oyo State and Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the aspiring lawmaker vowed to deliver an inclusive representation, empowerment and transformative leadership if elected in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections.
