A leading APC aspirant for Oyo State House of Assembly, Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin has condoled with the APC family over the sudden loss of former Egbeda Local Government Chairman, Hon. Akeem Sodiq.
In a condolence message by Olawale Kunle, a Special Assistant on Media, Communications and Publicity, and made available on Sunday, Hon. Olawoyin described the passed on leader as a humble democrat.
She noted that the former APC chieftain was loving, dedicated, humble and too democratic, saying his death has greatly left a mark in the party, and particularly in Ward 10 where he engaged local politicking.
The Public administration expert sympathized with the family of the departed politician, urging them to draw closer to the Almighty God who decides the fate of man.
Hon. Olawoyin added that the leadership of the former leader in Egbeda opened path to transparency, openness and true democracy, which gave rise to grassroots development.
“Let me say, Hon. Akeem Sodiq bade farewell when Egbeda needs him more. He was such a leader who strengthens peace, and relationship. We will sorely miss him”, she added.
The gender equality advocate maintained that the deceased was a spotless personality, who cared for his people at the grassroots at all times, saying his deeds remain evergreen in the heart of young and old of the local government.
Hon. Olawoyin while condoling with the Ward 10 party members, urge everyone to prioritize his health in an economic dangling period like this for an understandably good lifespan.
The leading 2027 aspirant urged the surviving family to lean on God for a socio-economic enhancement, prayed God repose the soul of the departed grassroots politician.
“We know everything that happens to man has a hand of God; we urge the surviving family to rely on God for socio-economic support. We pray Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and give him eternal rest ‘aljanah fridaus’ “, she said.
Meanwhile, Hon. Olawoyin re-emphasized readiness to serve the Egbeda State Constituency, pledging free regular medical outreaches for youths, men, women and elderly, if elected in forthcoming party primary and General Elections.
