APC chieftain and Oyo governorship aspirant, Hon. Popoola Olukayode Joshua has urged Nigerians to maintain confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration beyond 2027.
In a Democracy Day statement issued by Dr. Michael Olufemi, a Personal Assistant and made available to newsmen on Friday, Popoola, popularly called POJ, said Nigeria is blessed to have “a core democrat” in leadership.
“The last three years have witnessed improved socio-economic transformation under President Tinubu,” he said.
Popoola, an engineer, cited policies including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Student Loan scheme, and recruitment of 50,000 police officers as evidence of progress.
He condemned recent abductions in Oriire, Oyo State, and other states including Ekiti, Borno, and Edo, and called on citizens to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely information.
The APC chieftain also urged traditional and religious leaders to re-orient their subjects on value systems for a better society.
Popoola called for continued prayers and support for the administration as it battles banditry, terrorism, and other security challenges.
“Our optimism in this government must not waver. The fight against insecurity is ongoing and transformation is underway,” he added.
