The University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, has successfully performed its first Neuronavigation Spine Surgery.

The tertiary level of health care has on 25th of February, 2026 at the Main theatre of the Hospital had a preliminary surgery conduct.
Speaking, the Head of Neuro surgical department, Professor Abiodun Adeolu stated that Neuronavigation Spine Surgery is a cutting -edge procedure , using advanced imaging like a GPS to guide surgeons with pinpoint precision.
He further emphasized that this milestone in UCH means safer operations, greater precision and better out comes for affected patients.

In his remark, the Chief Medical Director,University College Hospital, Ibadan, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo congratulated the NeuroSurgical team, describing it is as a ‘victory for all.’
He further stated that “the breakthrough is a major leap for healthcare in Nigeria that is set to change patients’care”.
