A media and support group of the All Progressives Congress, Avant Garde, has felicitated Oloye Akin Alabi, the federal lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, on his conferment with a new chieftaincy title.

The title, Aare Onibon, conferred by the Ajia Olubadan, will be made official on Friday during the coronation to be performed by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday and made available to newsmen, the group’s Chief of Media, Communication and Strategy, Comrade Olawale Kunle, described the new role as a testament to the lawmaker’s resilience, focus and dedication to public service and development.

The group noted that Oloye Akin Alabi has delivered democratic dividends in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency far above his predecessors since the advent of democracy.

It added that the lawmaker remains a pride to Ibadanland on the national stage, citing the recent approval of major road projects worth nearly ₦1.3 trillion across various regions of Oyo State as evidence.

“We are aware that Oloye Akin Alabi’s input as Chairman, House Committee on Public Works, Federal House of Representatives, gave rise to several developmental projects in the country, particularly in Ibadan and across Oyo State in recent times,” the statement read.

“You are a pride. You are closer to the people, to tradition, and to power. We pray that God Almighty continues to be with you and grant you long life in good health. Congratulations, sir.”
