Aspirant tasks pupils on focus, dedication

An Aspirant for Ibadan South East State Constituency 1, Hon. Aminat Kobiowu has called young children to remain focused for a greater future.

Hon. Kobiowu who is wife of the former chairman of Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Oyo State Chapter, stated this during the Catch Them Young Initiative Campaign at St. Brigid’s Basic Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan on Thursday.

The Unibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State explained her plights in prime time, adding that she suffered life basic needs including parental love and care, noting that she earned her life pride through hard labour and self-belief.

” I saw a hell while very young. Since my primary 4, my parents have separated and that made me take the responsibility of taking care of my four siblings. What a hell! I wrote my SSCE exam through a borrowed fund, which eventually landed me as a Pool House Clerk in Ibadan. I sold articles to University of Ibadan, and at last, I ended up studying and graduated there. Today, I am a Master’s degree holder from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State”, she said.

She reiterated on the need to imbibe focus and dedication irrespective of challenges faced by one for a competitively shining future, assuring of making educational plans and policies through legislative business if emerged as representative to the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2027.

The civil servant turned politician called the government and parent to continue to forge heads in ensuring a sustainable environment for a thriving education.

 

Similarly, Special Assistant on Arewa Community to the Governor of Oyo State, Ahmed Muritala represented by PA, Ibrahim Abdullahi called all parents regardless of socio-economy must support their ward’s vision for self fulfilment.

Meanwhile, the chief coordinator for Catch Them Young Initiative and Bright Media Network, while appreciating the teachers and administrators of the school, urged the pupils to prioritize their studies and with the belief they could make irrespective of their backgrounds.

Pupil-coordinators for inaugurated clubs included, Adeola Oyebisi ( Security), Rahmat Abdullateef ( Press), Thomas Ayomide( Health), Maurice Ebenezer( Environment) among others.
