The leadership of the Accord Party has reaffirmed its support for the National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, passing a vote of confidence in his leadership during a solidarity visit to the party’s National Secretariat in Area 3, Garki, Abuja.

The visit, which took place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, was led by the party’s state chairmen and national officers, who described Mgbudem’s leadership as visionary, purposeful, transformative and progressive. They said his stewardship has strengthened the party and attracted more Nigerians to its fold, including Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, lawmakers at the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly, as well as credible candidates who contested under the party’s platform in the 2023 general election.

The party leaders also expressed confidence in Accord’s chances in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election. They called on residents of the state to vote massively for the party, maintaining that Governor Ademola Adeleke has delivered on his mandate during his first term and deserves re-election to consolidate his achievements and further advance the state’s development. They equally urged Nigerians to identify with the Accord Party and support its candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Responding, the National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, appreciated the state chairmen and national officers for the show of confidence and solidarity. He assured them that he would continue to provide purposeful leadership and justify the trust reposed in him.

Mgbudem also emphasized the need for unity within the party, urging members to remain committed to the ideals of Accord. He said he remains open to constructive advice aimed at building a stronger political platform with national appeal, adding that he would continue to count on the cooperation and support of party leaders and members across the country.
