Chief Saheed Oladele who is intolerant of corruption, is passing through the road once passed by the current Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who came to power through a democratic election held on March 24, 2024.
He won the election with over 54% of the votes in the first round, becoming the youngest democratically elected president in Africa at 44 years old.
The election was initially scheduled for February 25, 2024, but was postponed by President Macky Sall, sparking mass protests. The Constitutional Council later ruled the postponement illegal, and the election was rescheduled for March 24, 2024.
Faye, a former tax inspector, ran as an independent candidate, supported by popular opposition leader Ousmane Sonko. His campaign focused on addressing high unemployment, the cost of living, and migration issues affecting Senegal’s youthful population.
Faye’s victory marked a significant shift in Senegalese politics, as it was the first time an opposition candidate won the presidential election in the first round since the country’s independence in 1960.
Ousmane Sonko, the Senegalese opposition leader, was barred from participating in the 2024 presidential election due to a six-month suspended sentence for defamation, which was upheld by the Supreme Court.
The Constitutional Council also rejected his candidacy, citing an incomplete application file, specifically the lack of a certificate confirming a deposit of 45,000 Euros at the Caisse de Consignation et de Dépots.
Sonko was extremely popular, so President Macky Sall came up with a court issue to stop Sonko from contesting. There was a serious riot in Senegal, so Sonko ordered his supporters to vote for Faye. Faye won with 54%.
In Oyo State, currently, the heavy weight APC Aspirants will neutralize each other out and our own young and competent Saheed Oladele will just walk in to the Agodi Govt House.
Recall that Saheed Oladele started Erudite School from the scratch to one of the best private schools in Nigeria today ‼
Please check out the Statistics of the School results in the international Examinations. I think PBAT must check out the records of Saheed Oladele starting from his UI days.
Saheed Oladele is very intolerant of corruption and that’s what Nigeria needs today in order to develop.
