Palm Sunday: HRH. Okoliko tasks Nigerians on genuine neighbourliness, unity for shared prosperity

The President of the Non-Indigenes Traditional Council of Ibadan and Oyo State, NITCIOS, His Royal Highness, Ajofe Dr. Friday Okoliko, has called Nigerians to imbibe geninue neighbourliness, unity for shared prosperity.

In a statement personally signed and made available on Sunday in commemoration of the 2026 Easter Celebration, HRH Ajofe Dr. Okoliko noted that the peaceful African Nations including Ghana, Republic of Benin, Togo, Bostswana others have given rise to neighbourliness, saying through this the nations are making impacts.

The Onu Igala of Ibadadland Oyo State who explained the impact of Triumphant Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem the Holy Bible records, said the event indicated confidence over life challenge.

He added that Jesus Christ from the beginning of his joining the Earth knew he was coming to serve, lead and leave an undeniable legacy, saying his confidence helped him succeed.

The respected non-Yoruba leader noted that the county Nigeria could only return to prosperity through sacrifice, dedication, genuine love towards one another, prayers, patience with the focus of the leaders.

The royal traditional leader while felicitating with christian faithful in Oyo State, Nigeria and across the World in the celebration of Easter, urged them to continue to pray for the leaders while priorities are placed on genuine neighbourliness exemplified by Jesus Christ.

He added that genuine neighbourliness will help to address all social vices in the Nigeria including corruption, kidnappings, security threats, greed, electoral malpractices, even quick rich syndrome, saying it is the response to peaceful co-existence and shared prosperity from poverty.

” My finding in some African countries visited lies on impacts of neighbourliness. Republic of Benin, Ghana, Togo, Botswana, and few others is that the citizens love themselves. Their government put their people at heart. The led respect their leaders because love is at par. No wonder, they advance socio-economically day in, day out. Nigeria should return to the old social order of neighbourliness where lives were lived without fear, intimidation or conspiracy “, he said.

Meanwhile, HRH Ajofe Dr. Okoliko called the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to strengthen the security and power sectors for shared prosperity as to discourage continued jetting out of citizens overseas for usual greener pasture.
