President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing insecurity across the country, saying efforts to help the vulnerable will not be overshadowed by the challenges.

Speaking at an Eid-el-Fitr gathering in Lagos on Sunday, Tinubu said he had secured support for modern security interventions from French President Emmanuel Macron and was in talks with other nations.

“Insecurity is an enemy of development, progress, and prosperity,” he said, urging governors to remain steadiest in translating their visions into policies that impact citizens’ livelihoods.

Tinubu lauded the governors for their support, assuring the people of Borno State of stronger protection through new technology, following a condolence visit by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The President also expressed concern about the Middle East crisis, saying it would spike inflation and affect purchasing power.

He urged the governors to provide incentives to cushion the impact on energy and transportation prices.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Governors Forum chairman, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, thanked Tinubu for his intervention and visionary leadership, saying the state police discussion was ongoing.
