The Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Hon. Kunle Olatunji (KTJ), has joined well-meaning Nigerians in mourning the passing of veteran journalist, renowned media icon, and distinguished traditional title holder, Oloye Lekan Alabi, who died in a Lagos hospital after a brief illness.
Hon. Olatunji described the late Oloye Lekan Alabi as an outstanding media professional, accomplished public relations expert, respected cultural ambassador, and one of the finest ambassadors of Ibadanland.
He noted that Alabi’s remarkable contributions to journalism, public service, and Yoruba cultural heritage will remain indelible.
“The late Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland had a distinguished career. He served as Chief Press Secretary to several former Governors of Oyo State and as Public Relations Manager of the Oodua Group of Companies. “, he said.
Recall, Oloye Lekan Alabi remained the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland and Cultural Ambassador of the House of Oduduwa, dedicating his life to the promotion of Yoruba history, culture, and tradition until his passing.
According to Olatunji, the passing of Oloye Lekan Alabi has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill. He said Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria have lost one of their most illustrious sons, whose wisdom, humility, and commitment to excellence inspired generations.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the entire Ibadan Traditional Council, the media community, and all associates of the late cultural icon. He prayed that Almighty God grants him eternal rest and gives his loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Apostle Dare Ojo, on behalf of the leadership and entire members of the party, expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of Oloye Lekan Alabi.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul, appealing God to comfort all those grieving this great loss.
