Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called for unity, decorum and tolerance among residents as Nigeria moves toward a new political season.
Governor Makinde said this while speaking with newsmen after he received Oyo state delegation led by deputy governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, who paid Eid-el-Kabir homage to his house after the Eid prayer kad by Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganeey Agbotomokekere.
The Governor while extending greetings to Muslim faithful stressed that government will come and go but the state and the country remain.

While acknowledging the rising political tension, noting that the country is moving towards a political season. He insisted that Oyo state remains difficult to divide along ethnic or religious lines.

Makinde, also addressed ongoing challenges, including the kidnapping of school children in the state, adding that stakeholders are working round the clock to ensure that the children and the teachers reunite with their families soonest.
Earlier, prayers was offered for the people of the state, government and Nigeria at large.
