The Oyo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty over its reaction to Governor Seyi Makinde’s comments.
In a statement, PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Micheal Ogunsina, said the APC is trying to rewrite history, pointing out that the party’s leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, used aggressive rhetoric during their opposition days.

The statement noted that Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari made statements that shaped intense political mobilisation and public agitation, and now the APC is trying to classify Makinde’s historical references as incitement.
The PDP described the APC’s reaction as a sign of anxiety driven by public dissatisfaction and economic hardship under the current administration.

The party reiterated that democracy is a marketplace of ideas, not a monopoly of opinions, and warned the APC against selective justice and democratic bad faith.
Meanwhile, the party insisted that Governor Makinde remains committed to democratic principles and responsible governance.
