The State Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State and Secretary of the Reconciliation Committee, Dr. Aderemi Opatunde, has called for continued loyalty and unity among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She made the call during a visit to the headquarters of the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu, GMT, in Ibadan on Sunday.

The APC chieftain commended the group under the leadership of Chief Mrs. Aminat Oparemi and urged members to intensify voter mobilization for all consensus candidates of the party.

Opatunde condemned the policies of the present administration in Oyo State on education, security, environment and other sectors. She said unity within the party would enable it to reclaim power in the state.

“Like I said, the people are angry, and they have the legitimate right to be. I will never be part of those who will judge them. I wear two caps: State Women Leader and Secretary of the Reconciliation Committee. The process is ongoing. I believe in equity and reconciliation. There is need to recognize the people and associate with them. Politics is about give and take. At the end of the day, we are children of one father, working for the good of the people and the land. The fact is, when 30 people are in a race, one will win,” she said.

Opatunde urged members to remain resolute despite the party’s recent defeat in the Osun governorship election. She also re-echoed that the party had adopted Senator Sharafadeen Alli of Oyo South as its consensus gubernatorial candidate, and appealed for support for his victory in 2027.

Speaking, the Director-General of GMT, Chief Mrs. Aminat Oparemi, pledged the group’s readiness to mobilize voters for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates.

“This is a wholesome support group of the All Progressives Congress with members across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State. Our mandate is to deliver Oyo State and Nigeria for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates,” she said.

Also speaking, the Director of Information of GMT, Engineer Oluyemi Akinroju, and APC chieftain, Dr. Olukunle Abiola, pledged 2 million votes for President Tinubu in 2027. They called on members to prioritize unity for a victorious outing.

The event had in attendance executives of the Oyo APC, members from the 33 LGAs, and journalists.
