The All Progressives Congress in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State has inaugurated its ad-hoc campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday by the party’s General Secretary, Muyiwa Adewusi, the APC described the approved council as a “train of seasoned brains” for electoral victory.
The party said the council will cover eight key areas: General Purpose; Contact and Mobilization; Planning, Research and Strategy; Public Enlightenment; Special Contact and Mobilization; Security; Finance; and Media and Publicity.

Adewusi said the committee was constituted to strengthen grassroots mobilization and campaign for all candidates of the party from top to bottom.
He recalled that at a plenary session of the APC Egbeda Local Government Working Committee on October 2, 2026, the party resolved that the constitution of the ad-hoc local government campaign council was in line with the APC constitution.
The statement noted that Article 18(iii) of the party constitution empowers local government and ward executive committees to set up standing and ad-hoc committees at the state, local government, and ward levels.
Adewusi maintained that the provision expressly confirms the constitutional basis for lower party organs to establish committees for particular purposes.
He further stated that the party in the area unanimously resolved to appoint its Chairman, Comrade Olawale Olaleye, to double as Campaign Chairman for APC Egbeda Local Government ahead of the 2027 general election.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary called on members to familiarize themselves with the structure of the various committees and other relevant information (Check the list)
He cautioned individuals or groups against parading themselves as working for the party without authorization from the approved campaign committee in Egbeda Local Government.
The party urged campaign committee members to remain focused, united, and committed in their respective assignments to secure a historic victory for Egbeda, Oyo State, and Nigeria, and to deliver all-inclusive democratic dividends beyond 2027.
