The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has denied reports that a consensus list of candidates for the 2027 elections has been prepared or endorsed by any individual or group within or outside the state.
In a statement signed by the APC Oyo State Chairman and former deputy governor of the state, Chief Dr. Moses Alake Adeyemo, the party urged patriots and faithful members to disregard any information or documents circulating about a consensus candidate or list for 2027, describing it handiworks of the saboteurs.
The party emphasized that it has not received guidelines from the APC Headquarters in Abuja, which will formalize the start of activities to produce candidates for the 2027 General Elections.
The APC also condemned the circulation of a fake list containing names of purported gubernatorial, deputy gubernatorial, senatorial, and House of Representatives candidates, saying it did not emanate from the party.
Recall, the development is coming amid speculation about potential candidates for the 2027 Gubernatorial Election in Oyo State, with several aspirants, including Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and Senator Teslim Folarin, mentioned as possible contenders.
