The Non-Indigenous Students Stakeholders Forum of Oyo State has expressed strong reservations about the scheduled NANS JCC Convention/Election, citing inadequate consultation and unfairness in the process.
In a statement jointly signed by Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Olanrewaju Babatunde and secretary, Olalere Benedict and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the group demanded the immediate cancellation of the election, slated for March 25, 2026, at Michael Adeniyi Koleoso Polytechnic, Saki.
The statement highlighted the clash with ongoing academic examinations, security concerns, and the disregard for senators’ requests for a date change.
“We urge the Rector to reconsider hosting the convention amidst these challenges,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the Forum has copied the Oyo State Governor, Commissioner of Police, and NANS President, among others, emphasizing the need for fairness, inclusivity, and student safety.
