The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, has deployed 1,705 personnel to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
The personnel will provide security at Eid prayer grounds, recreation centers, markets, motor parks, and other public places where large gatherings are expected.
In a statement signed by Oyo State NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Samuel Opebiyi and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Commandant Augustine Padonu stated that the deployment is part of the Command’s comprehensive security strategy to guarantee safety and protect lives and property during the festive period.
The NSCDC will work with other security agencies to maintain law and order, and has warned criminal elements to steer clear of the state.
“Anyone found wanting will be dealt with decisively,” Padonu said, urging residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies.
The NSCDC reassures Oyo State residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property, and wishes Muslims a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration
