The founder of Solutions FM and Aweni Property, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing the lingering crisis within the party.
In a letter dated March 2, 2026, Adegoke announced his decision to leave the PDP, stating that the party’s internal conflicts could jeopardize the political ambitions of its members.
He expressed appreciation to members of his ward for their support during his time in the party .
Adegoke, a chartered accountant and businessman, has been active in Oyo State’s political space and has repeatedly expressed interest in contributing to the state’s development through leadership and governance.
The defection is expected to add a new dimension to the political landscape in Oyo State as political activities intensify ahead of the next governorship election.
To some political experts, Adegboyega’s defection to ADC may give Governor Seyi Makinde a soft landing if he eventually joins the party
Recall, a lawmaker representing Ibadan North West State Constituency, Dawood Olalere in the present 10th Oyo State House of Assembly announced his defection exactly three weeks ago to the African Democratic Party.
