The All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Manager for Egbeda Local Government, Alhaji Dauda Basiru, has charged support groups to deepen democracy by prioritising grassroots mobilisation, especially among rural dwellers.
Alhaji Basiru, popularly known as Dabas, gave the charge on Thursday when principal officers of the Aare Movement, led by its Director-General, Comrade AbdulKareem Olasunmbo, paid him a courtesy visit in Ibadan.
He commended the Movement for its proposed initiative, the “BSA Community-to-Community Campaign Initiative,” describing it as timely and crucial to the collective effort to ensure victory for Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as the next governor of Oyo State.
The Egbeda APC chieftain stressed the need for all support groups to work in love and unity to secure victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Earlier, the Director-General of the Aare Movement, Comrade Olasunmbo, congratulated Alhaji Basiru on his appointment and said the visit was aimed at strengthening campaign collaboration and exploring strategic partnership.
He explained that the Aare Movement, founded by Aare Taofeek Yekeen, was established to extend humanitarian support to the less privileged, noting that politics is only one of its organs, alongside Religious Affairs, Health, Education, Sports and Information Technology.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the BSA Community-to-Community Campaign Initiative, Dr. Akinseun Akinjiyan, said the initiative was designed to complement and align with the APC campaign template in Egbeda Local Government.
Chieftains in attendance included former Vice-Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Abideen Ayinde; Renewed Hope Ambassador, Alhaja Adekunle Gbadamosi; Alhaji Gbadebo; Chief Olaide Ogunlana; Chief Tunde Omoteji; Mrs. Alimat Alabi and Hon. Saheed Lateef, among others.
