The African Democratic Congress Candidate for Ogbomosho North State Constituency, Hon. Akinwale John-Oke, fondly called “Oke-Mountain”, has pledged to deliver real democracy in his Constituency if elected in 2027.
In his 2026 Independence Day Message signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Covenant Ojo, on Thursday, the politician credited the resilience and commitment of Nigerians over the last sixty-six years.
He described democracy as thriving due to the involvement of sons and daughters of the country, but said focus and readiness to serve are lacking in the governance drive.
The experienced UK-trained engineer and former Nasarawa footballer warned Nigerians against electing selfish and inaccessible leaders in the forthcoming general elections.
He said the wrongs in the polity can only be corrected by leaders who will faithfully sacrifice for their followers, adding that his readiness to serve is to bring his foreign experiences to bear through lawmaking and community development.

Hon. Oke-Mountain appreciated his party leaders, members, and support groups for championing his representation plans across Ogbomosho North State Constituency, vowing to deliver impactful democratic representation by the 2027 Independence Day Celebration.

The scion of the Oke Dynasty and Samuel Ladoke Akintola berated poor representation by the current lawmaker in the Constituency, saying his own impact will be felt across all demographics.
“Within the first session as a lawmaker, I shall have sponsored bills on real democratization of local government autonomy, revival of grassroots and school sports, and integration of local security actors into community policing, among others,” he said.
Meanwhile, the politician urged Nigerians to increase their involvement in politics, adding that it will enable credible leaders to be elected for shared democratic prosperity. He urged voters to support him and all other ADC candidates from top to bottom in the 2027 polls.
