The Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji- Ojo has hailed the leader of Afenifere Group, Pa. Reuben Fasoranti, CFR for his years of democratic service for Nigeria.

He stated this at 100th Birthday Ceremony held in his honour at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The event which gathered leaders and chieftains of Afenifere was themed “A Century of Courage and Stewardship of Yorùbá Democratic Legacy.”

Speaking, the Minister of Interior who was also the guest speaker noted that Pa Fasoranti’s impact is “written in the enduring architecture of our democracy, justice, and communal progress.”

He described the nonagenarian as “a living metaphor for integrity, courage and dedicated service to Nigeria,” adding that at 100, Pa Fasoranti remains “a towering symbol of continuity, conviction, and quiet strength.”

Tunji-Ojo congratulated the elder statesman and prayed for his continued peace, good health, and the joy of witnessing a united and prosperous Nigeria.

Other speakers at the lecture highlighted Pa Fasoranti’s contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey, from his firm stance with Afenifere and NADECO in defence of the people’s mandate to his role in shaping Yorùbá democratic values across generations
