Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday said a cross-party political coalition has been formed in Rivers State to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Wike, who spoke during his monthly media chat in Abuja, said members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, All Progressives Congress, APC, Labour Party, LP, Action Alliance, AA, and other groups had agreed to work together “in the interest of Rivers State.”

“Today, we have PDP, APC, Labour Party, AA all together. We will support the candidate who is most acceptable. Whoever emerges should be seen as the coalition’s candidate, not APC or PDP,” he said.

The FCT Minister declared that President Tinubu is the only presidential candidate who can win Rivers in 2027, urging political analysts to “cancel Rivers” from their calculations if they are not counting votes for the President.

“I’m talking as a political realist because I know my people. All we are doing is for one purpose: to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is spreading like wildfire,” he added.

Wike said the alliance was not about party supremacy but about attracting more federal projects to Rivers.
“For me, what matters is Rivers State. If projects are coming and people are benefiting, then I am satisfied,” he stated.
