Aspirant for Oyo State House of Assembly, Egbeda State Constituency, and APC chieftain, Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has described the late Oloye Lekan Alabi as a man of enduring legacy.

In a condolence message issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Communication and Publicity, Olawale Kunle, and made available to newsmen on Saturday, Hon. Olawoyin described the news of his passing as “lamentably shocking.”

She noted that the late Ibadan chief was a respected historian, an accessible and hospitable leader, and a man of great impact.

The Public Administration professional added that the entire Oyo State will miss the deceased traditional leader, stressing that he distinguished himself in arts, culture, tradition, and public speaking.

Hon. Olawoyin urged the family to uphold the legacy of Oloye Lekan Alabi to ensure continued respect for the late Ibadan chief.

Recall that the news of Oloye Lekan Alabi’s passing was announced in Lagos earlier on Saturday. He died at the age of 76, just a step away from joining the Olubadan-in-Council from the Abese title. The veteran journalist, social and arts commentator, and media aide to several governors in the South-West spent decades in public service.

The APC chieftain prayed for peace and progress for his family and the Olubadan-in-Council.

“Sun re, Baba Omo keekeke. Your life was spent in dignity and service. May the Almighty Allah grant you Al-Jannah Firdaus. May there be continued peace and progress in your family, Ibadanland and the Olubadan-in-Council,” the statement concluded.
