A media and support group of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Avant Garde, has thrown its weight behind all candidates of the party ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The unanimous decision was reached at its monthly critical stakeholders’ meeting held at the Egbeda Local Government Party Secretariat, Ibadan, on Sunday.

The meeting, chaired by Comrade Tayo Olatunji, took key decisions as the group highlighted the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the last three years as a benchmark for transformational democracy in Nigeria.

The group noted that the country, across various demographics, has witnessed positive impact, particularly through youth-focused life-changing policies and programmes. It described the feat as a new driver of youth entrepreneurship and a reducer of the out-of-school syndrome.

Avant Garde commended the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District and 2027 governorship hopeful, Dr. Sarafadeen Alli, as a grassroots mobilizer needed in the state. It said his experience will help unlock potentials and talents at the grassroots level.

The group applauded his commitment to actively pursue local government autonomy, noting that it will localize governance and entrench true democracy as envisioned by the Tinubu administration.

Avant Garde also applauded the Senator representing Oyo Central, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, for renovating Wakajaye Anglican Primary School, describing him as a true promoter of grassroots development. The group commended his activities across the 11 wards of Egbeda and the other 10 local government areas in his constituency, and urged him to deliver more credible representation beyond 2027.

For Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, the group described Hon. Akin Alabi as a messiah of the masses. It added that the representative has brought an end to leadership and infrastructural deficits, saying his representation will remain historic.

“Hon. Akin Alabi merits greatness all round owing to his dedication to culture, tradition and constituency. His representation will remain on the mind of the people. What a credible leader and builder!”, the group stated.

The group also appreciated party leaders in Egbeda and across the country as the APC prepares for the 2027 General Elections. It equally passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Yemi Bernard Olurinde, the party’s candidate for Egbeda State Constituency.

The group described him as a core democrat, lover of development and workaholic needed for due democratic dividends in the state constituency.

Avant Garde urged all members of the party to remain optimistic and collaborate in reconciling all aggrieved members for a landslide victory in Egbeda, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Democratic dividends will only be possible when our great party wins in 2027. Across all divides, we must be united, optimistic and reconcile any aggrieved members for widely accepted results,” it said.

Meanwhile, the group vowed to continue to work with all candidates and the party as a whole, which it described as its major target.
