Breaking: Fubara presents N1.8tri as 2026 Appropriation Budget, targets prioritizing infrastructure, education development

The Governor of Rivers State, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara has presented a total sum of N1.8trillion naira as the state’s 2027 Budget.

The presentation ceremony took place at the state assembly complex on Friday, noting that his administration has jealously guided against mismanagement over the last three years.

The governor who said despite his administration faced plenty of challenges, he said unprecedented investment, job creation and socioeconomic opportunities for the citizens have been recorded.

In his proposed N1.8trillion 2026 Budget titled ” Budget if Resilience for Growth and Development “, Governor Fubara noted that the the finance proposal with further put the state into more prosperity.

He said the capital budget has been increased from 713billion to N1.4billion in 2025, with great optimism for more performance above 68 percent in the 2026 Budget.

Fubara added that the proposed Budget contained 413billion as recurrent expenditure while capital expenditure takes 1.4trillion naira, with a huge concentration on Public Works (N533 billion and Education N315 billion) respectively.

The governor who pledged accountability of the funds, urged speedy passage of the appropriation bill to meet its intended target in no time.
