Senator Akintunde Condemns Attack on Schools in Oriire, Calls for Swift Rescue of Victims

Oyo Central Senator, Yunus Akintunde has condemned the recent attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the incident as painful, disturbing, and unacceptable.

In a statement made available to journalists, the senator expressed deep concern over the attack which reportedly affected pupils, teachers, and residents of the affected communities.

Senator Akintunde said attacks on educational institutions and innocent children pose a serious threat to the future of society and must never be tolerated.

“My heart goes out to the affected pupils, teachers, parents, and the entire communities. An attack on innocent children and places of learning is painful and unacceptable,” he stated.

The lawmaker commended security agencies and the Oyo State Government for their swift response following the incident, while urging them to intensify rescue efforts and ensure that all abducted victims are safely returned.

He also called for the perpetrators of the attack to be brought to justice without delay.

According to him, education must remain a safe environment for every child, stressing that insecurity should not be allowed to disrupt learning or create fear among residents.

Senator Akintunde further assured the people of Oriire Local Government of his solidarity and prayers during the difficult period, while expressing hope for the quick restoration of peace and normalcy in the affected communities.
